INCORPORATED:
The Town of Laurel Park was incorporated on February 28, 1925.
LOCATION: The Town lies at the southern edge of the Blue
Ridge Mountains just west of Hendersonville, North Carolina, 26 miles south/southeast of
Asheville, and 44 miles north/northwest of Spartanburg.
VISION: Our vision is to preserve and enhance Laurel Park's
unique quality of life making it the residential and small business community of choice in Western North Carolina.
MISSION: To achieve the Town vision by pursuing only planned and deliberate growth; preserving
and enhancing our physical infrastructure through a proactive and long-range public works program; protecting our resources and
values-both property and human-through continued strong zoning regulation and enforcement, green space preservation, and
community policing; and meeting our goals effectively and efficiently using best management and administrative practices
while ensuring a quality work environment.

AREA: Laurel Park encompasses 2.87 square miles.
EMPLOYEES: The Town of Laurel Park employs 19 full time
employees and four part time employees.
BUDGET: The Town’s budget for the fiscal year 2011-2012 is: General Fund $1,912,100 – Water Fund $296,300 – Sewer Fund $76,000.
TAXES: The Town’s tax rate is 36 cents per $100 of property valuation. There is an additional property tax of 51.36 cents per $100 of property valuation imposed by Henderson County.
